Zoo Narrative

One beautiful summers day, a seven year old boy called Tommy, and his parents, were at Sunny Beach Zoo.
They were just about to go home, when they realized
Tommy wasn't with them. They looked all over the zoo except for one place in the zoo - the tiger's cage.
When they were near the tiger's cage, they heard a very loud screech that said. Help! Mum! Help, Dad!
Tommy's mum and dad rushed to the tiger's cage as fast as they could.
When they got there, they saw Tommy trapped. The tiger had wrestled Tommy onto the floor and was circling
Tommy. The tiger looked very hungry and very angry.
Tommy's mother started screaming, "TOMMY!!! TOMMY!!!"
The father of Tommy ran to get the zoo keeper, who came, as quick as he could, to the tiger's cage. The zoo keeper took a huge juicy  piece of meat with him. When he got to the tiger's cage, he jumped into the cage. The tiger came charging at him because he wanted the meat. The zoo keeper dropped the meat and ran away, as fast as he could. On his way out, he picked Tommy up and got out of the cage.
Soon, they were both safe. Tommy gave his mother and father a big hug when he was out.
Straight away, they went home. It would be a long time before Tommy went to the zoo again.

A Day At The Zoo

On Wednesday morning, my class went to the zoo.
We had already passed lots of animals when we got to the giraffes. When we first saw the giraffes, they looked amazing. They were so big they made me feel like I was only one foot tall. They walked really slowly and peacefully. In their enclosure, there were dust trees and stones, and there were deer, zebras and ostriches with them. We saw the deer fighting together.
Next, we went to see the rhinos. They were really fat and really stinky. In their enclosure, there was dirt, and they were making dust as they walked along peacefully. It said on a sign that people were chopping off rhino horns so that they could use them for medicine because they think that it can cure cancer and other diseases like that.
Soon after that, we got bored with the rhinos so we decided to go and see the chimpanzees. They were really funny because one of the zookeepers was in the other cage feeding the chimps and, when one of the chimps saw the food, they would climb up the metal bars and eat it. When the chimps had finished their food, they would hop up on the little deck in their cage and wave to us.
Soon after that, we went into the native birds’ colony where birds sometimes land on you. Sadly, no birds landed on us but we did see some pretty amazing and colourful birds.
Finally, we all got called to the classroom. In the classroom, there were amazing things like lizards, fish, cheetah fur, a dead tracheolar and tortoise shells.
I had an amazing and fun time at the zoo.

Guy Fawkes

On Friday night, I went to a Guy Fawkes party.
When we got to the party, it was about seven o'clock in the evening.
As soon as we jumped out of the car, we raced as fast as we could to the flying fox. We had to wait about five minutes to get our turn. At last, we got our turn. Emily and I went on together.
On the way back up, Emily was pulling me up while I was sitting on the flying fox. When Emily had nearly finished pulling me up, Josh started doing the helicopter  to me. The helicopter is when is when someone makes you bounce up and down on a flying fox. When we were almost up, people started yelling at us to hurry up so I started shouting at them.
After a couple more goes, we got bored with the flying fox so we decided to do something else. We decided to go and see the bonfire. Next to the bonfire, there was a tight rope on a tree. Charlotte, Paige and I started to play on it.
Soon, it was fireworks time. The fireworks lit up the sky and looked like a thousand colourful stars.
Soon, the fire works were finished and, a bit later, we went home.
I had such a good time.

Getting Baptised

It was last week on a windy saturday afternoon. I was so excited because was getting baptised and I will tell you why.

My dad thought my family and I should get baptised because last year he started going to church. He quite liked it so he decided to get us  baptised.

lots of people came to our baptism. My God parents Angus and Mia had to come down to Ngaruawahia all the way from Auckland. They said that they were going to take me up to there house for a weekend and spoil me rotten.

In the church it looked beautiful with lots of pretty candles lit up and the big organ. In the middle of the ceremony Ivan the vicar asked my family to come up and lean sideways over this big wooden bowl on a stand. When we were leaning over the bowl Ivan poured freezing cold water over our foreheads.

Once we were all dry Ivan put holy oil on our foreheads that smelt really really nice. The only problem with the oil is that it stung my forehead.

When the baptism was over I felt so happy with myself because I was officially baptised.

Go Noah The Prodution

Have you heard about the amazing Go Noah production St Paul's put on last night. It all started about six weeks ago.

We all were told our parts (I was so happy that I was a small bird) then we started practising. My partner was my friend Montana. We got to be centre stage it was so cool.

In the production I got to have four talking lines and one singing line. I was so excited.

We had two dress rehearsals. My costume had a brown t-shirt white bojos and brown wings that went on our arms.

On the night of the real thing I was so excited but nervous at the same time. I was thinking to myself what if I forget the words to one of the songs what if I muck up my lines. In the end it all went down pretty well.

I thought everybody did very well. I can’t wait until next year.

Rocket Ropes

At Rocket Ropes you are about six meters off the ground on ropes I went there for my birthday I invited my best friend Charlotte.

When we got to Rocket Ropes the only person that went on the  obstacles with Charlotte and I was my dad because Cleo didn't want to go on the obstacles mum  had to look after Rex and Paige didn't feel very well at at all so they went across the road to Butterfly Creek.

The obstacles were really freaky but fun but luckily we got through the course. I thought Rocket Ropes was awesome.

We still wanted to do something else so we asked if we could go on this massive flying fox called the Zip Line. we went on it twice I crash landed both times we went.

I love Rocket Ropes I hope I can go again some time.

Indian For Dinner

I think we should have indian once a week every week on a wednesday. You will definitely agree with me after i tell you my three reasons why.
Indian food is  yummy and  have got lots of foods we like. like butter chicken and cashew nut chicken. If there is heaps of yummy foods that we like we will eat all our food and not be complaining for food.
Indian food is healthy because there meat and vegetables like Pork, Chicken, Baby Corn, Peas and Carrot, Beans and Lettuce. If there is there is healthy but yummy food you can get us to eat our meat and vegetables and aren't you always telling us to eat our meat and vegetables.       If there is no cooking it is less the work and you don’t have to take a long time making the food you just have to go down the road and the get the food. Since the indian food comes in containers you just have to wash the plates that we eat of and thats easy.
Those are my three reasons why I think we should idian once a week every week on wednesday do you agree with me now. (yes or no)

The Hot Pools

In the holidays, at about 8:30 in the morning, Emily, Charlotte and Olivia came over.
When they got to my house, I was still in my onesies and  having breakfast. Ten minutes later, I got dressed and got my togs.
About an hour later, we dropped Rex, my one year old brother, off at Centre, then we drove to the pools.
At the pools, Paige, Emily, Charlotte and I all went on the hydroslides but mostly on the pitch black slide. Cleo and Olivia didn’t go on the hydroslides because they were too scared.
When we were lining up for our turn, we saw Zach Wills, Josh Wills, Logan, Josh and Ethan so we had a pizza and  cupcake lunch with them. There were 9 pizzas and 15 kids, and all the pizzas were completely gone in about five minutes.
When Charlotte and I got our cupcakes with blue icing on them, we started being really silly and putting the blue icing all over our faces.
After lunch, Charlotte and I went back in the pools. Since it was the holidays, there was some fun blow-up toys in the big cold icy pool. One of the toys was called the Iceberg. We had to climb up to the top, three metres high, using only our hands with nothing to put our feet on. All the big kids found it really hard to get up but Charlotte and I found it easy.
I love the pools. They are such fun and even better when you have got your best friend there with you.

World Of Maths

This morning, Room 1, Room 2, Room 3 and Room 4 all went into the hall for World Of Maths. There was a man named Mr Karphet and, if we could not remember his name, we called him Mr P.
When he had finished showing us how to use some of the math games, we started on the activities. I was in group 13 so I was with- Paige H and Porter.
The first game we did was called Switch. I found it really easy except for the last one, it was a bit harder. I was getting frustrated so I jiggled my stick around in the machine and it actually worked. It got the different coloured circles in to the right places. That was my favourite game.

Skye and Storm

On a day near Christmas on the last day of school two pearants picked up two puppies and put them in the box that their children get a little presant out of every day.
When their children got home from school, they opened the box and two really cute puppies named Skye and Storm jumped out.
The children were filled with joy and very very thankful.
They got a huge surprise and they were so happy that they cried tears of joy.

Anti-Bullying Magic Show

Last Friday, at school, the whole school went into the hall to watch
El Grego’s Anti-Bullying Magic Show.
My favourite trick was when El Grego got four colourful wooden cages and piled them on top of each other.  All the colours of the cages were white, red, green and blue. El Grego grabbed a white soft feathery scarf and put it in a black silk bag. He closed the bag and said,“ It better work!’’ then he opened the bag, put his hand in and pulled out a beautiful white dove. He put the dove in the white cage.
To get the velvet coloured red bird, he got a picture of a red bird and he pulled out the red bird from the picture. El Grego put that bird in the red cage.
To get the green bird, El Grego held a big silk cloth with a butterfly on it. He put it over his hand, took the cloth off his hand and he was holding a big green parrot. He put that bird in the green cage.
To get the blue bird, El Grego got a blue cloth and put it in a see-through box. He put that box in a box that you couldn’t see through for about ten seconds, then he took the see-through box out of the box that you could not see through and there was a blue bird in the box. El Grego put the blue bird in the blue cage.
I thought the magic show was super cool.

Anti-Bullying Poem

Bullying is wrong. You should not be a bully.
Don't laugh when someone is hurt.
Don't be mean. It makes people cry.
Being a bully is horrible and not right.
If you are a bully, you should stop being one.
It makes you have no friends.
If you are a bully, you are a nasty fool.
If you are a bully, you are just a phoney - mean and cruel.

When I get my lunch, the bullies give me a punch.
Oh, why do they have to pick on me?

Easter

On Sunday morning, my dad came and woke my sisters and me up and said, “Let’s go and look for Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies.’’ First, we looked outside, but we didn’t think there would be any outside because it was wet so we looked inside and we found heaps of Easter Bunnies and Eggs. We even found an Easter Bunny for my baby brother, Rex.
Since we were going to Oxford that day, we ate our chocolate in the car, but it did not go down well because, on the windy road, I was sick, so we pulled over on the side of the road and got out of the car and we looked down the little hill and there was a whole lot of seals. It was so cool.
After that, we drove a bit more and, when we got to the ferry, it was past midnight and we had a really big problem. Mum had accidentally read the tickets wrong and thought the ferry left on Sunday but the ferry left on Saturday. We were really lucky because the person said that there were heaps more cabins and we could still go on the ferry. We needed cabins because we were staying the night on the ferry.
The next day, Dad told us that his mum had given us ten dollars each so we got ice cream with the money because it was so hot. When we were about 2 hours from Oxford, we stopped at the beach and went for  a swim. When we got to Granny and Grandad's house, we gave them huge hugs and we got heaps of presents from them. Yay.

Holy Thursday Liturgy

Holy Thursday Liturgy

It was now the time of Passover. Jesus’ followers came to Him and said, “We will go and prepare everything for the Passover Feast. Where do you want to eat the feast?” Jesus answered, “Go into the city. A man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. He will go into a house. Tell the owner of the house, “The teacher wants you to prepare the room for the Passover meal.” So the followers left and went into the city and prepared the Passover Feast.
In the evening, Jesus went to that house with the twelve. While they were eating, Jesus took the bread and gave God thanks and praise. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Take this, all of you, and eat it; this is my body which will be given up for you.”

When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave God thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: “Take this, all of you, and drink from it; this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”

After some time, Jesus got up from the table and went to a different part of the room.  He put a large towel around him, making himself look like a servant.  After that, he poured water into a large bowl and began to wash the disciples' feet.  He then dried them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.

When Jesus had finished washing all of the disciples’ feet, he returned to the table.  "Do you understand what I have done for you?"  Jesus asked them.
Jesus is like a King - but even greater than a king, He's the King of Kings!  By washing the disciples’ feet, He was doing something that only a servant would do.
This is an example of how you should treat others.  You don't have to actually wash other people's feet, but do kind things to others and act like a servant for Jesus.

The Hot Air Balloon

Today, the hot air balloon came to our school and was inflated on our school field.
The whole school got to school at 7am or 7.30 because the hot air balloon was at school. The hot air balloon was very colourful. It was pink, orange, red, and yellow with a cane basket and with a REALLY REALLY BIG BALLOON!!!  and it was called Wildfire. My family got to school at 7.16 and that’s when they were just spreading out the hot air balloon.
About 15 minutes later, heaps  more people got there. When everybody was there, they started inflating it.
When the hot air balloon was all set up, they started letting people have turns going up in the air a little bit. The first people to go up in the hot air balloon was Mrs Thomson then Paige D, Daneka, Mackenzie and I were the next people to go up in it. We climbed in the hot air balloon before we went up. We hovered over the ground for a bit and then we went up. It was super fun and freaky. The only thing I didn't like about it was that we were all seniors and they made the hot air balloon not go very high and with the juniors the did go really high.

My Shell

My shell is really cool. It is white with a little bit of brown on the top.
It feels very soft, but it has little holes in it.
It probably was in the sea and got washed up on the shore by a huge wave. it has little bits of sand stuck in the little holes that I cannot get out.
